The youngest CEO of hospital in Pakistan, Mr. Arsalan Hashmani is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA). A graduate of the Karachi American School, he has an undergraduate degree with a double major in Accounting and Finance, and a Master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Waterloo, Canada. Mr. Arsalan has experience working with several international organizations such as the Scotiabank, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Capgemini Consulting, Phillip Morris International and the Government of Canada eHealth Initiative. He has experience managing consulting projects north of $200MM USD. He is a proven entrepreneur and is currently serving as the Founder and CEO of a residential construction firm in Toronto. He is also the CEO of a commercial construction firm in Pakistan and the CEO of the Hashmanis Group of Hospitals.
Under his supervision the Hospital has entered into a new era of growth evolving from primarily an eye hospital to a tertiary care hospital dealing in more than 20 specialties such as Gynecology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Surgery, Medicine, Orthopedics, Radiology etc. He has started a formal surgeon training program through which surgeons from across the world come to Pakistan to enhance their surgical skills. He has also started a quarterly Ophthalmology conference in which Ophthalmologists from across the nation participate.
His vision for the Hospital comprises of increasing the bed capacity from 10 beds to 500 beds and starting a medical college in the core of the city. This initiative will not only help address the lack of access to healthcare in the city but will also address the concern of training and retaining quality talent.
Mr. Arsalan has also been involved with philanthropic work in Pakistan. He is the cofounder of the Hashmanis Foundation and is an active member of the Muslim Association. Together these foundations screen and treat millions of patients yearly free of cost. Mr. Arsalan organizes free medical camps on a weekly basis across the city to provide basic healthcare in areas where healthcare provisions are not available. Most recently, Mr. Arsalan has taken the initiative to organize a national competition for blind sports in order to prepare talent for the international Paralympics competition.
