Dr. Azfar Nafees specializes in a full range of glaucoma, laser refractive and cataract surgeries performing highly complex, novel and advanced procedures. He has graduated from Dow Medical College with Distinction in MBBS and completed 6 months residency in Neurology from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, USA. He has attained a Fellow of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (FCPS), United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) from New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, USA and Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) from General Medical Council, UK. He has received various honors, prizes and distinction in obstetrics, anatomy and histology.
Dr. Azfar Nafees brings over 20 years of expertise in ophthalmology with competency in YAG laser capsulotomy, peripheral iridotomy, Argon laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injections, pterygium excision, conjunctival biopsy, extracapsular cataract extraction, phacoemulsification, trabeculectomy, and penetrating keratoplasty among many others.
Dr. Azfar Nafees holds a number of active memberships locally and internationally including Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Glaucoma Association (PGA), Ophthalmological Society of Pakistan (OSP), Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Pakistan Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (PSCRS), European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS), as well as American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
He has been involved in various medical publications through Hashmanis Group of Hospitals as well as Pakistan Journal of Ophthalmology (PJO). He has participated in conducting courses, workshops and teaching at multiple levels to undergraduate medical students delivering lectures on ocular anatomy, pharmacology, pathology, diagnostics and more.
