Excimer Lasers

Excimer Lasers

We at Hashmanis Group of Hospitals thrive to excel in bringing back the active lifestyle of our patients. We offer high-quality treatments, and with the most updated latest laser vision correction technology.

The Excimer lasers are the only machine that uses ultraviolet rays to reshape the cornea and also correct the refractive error of the eye at the same time. Three different types of Excimer lasers are available at Hashmanis hospitals, where depending on the patient’s health diagnosis, our ophthalmologist operates each laser device accordingly.

Types of Excimers Lasers used at Hashmanis Group of Hospitals:
  • WaveLight® EX500 – Alcon

The Excimer laser of WaveLight® EX500 – Alcon is the fastest refractive surgery platform available. This Laser device is the next leap forward in fast and accurate refractive laser treatments. It can operate at 500 Hz, with an average treatment time of approximately 1.4 seconds per diopter1.

The WaveLight® EX500 utilizes the Wavefront Optimized ablation profiles specifically designed to help maintain the natural corneal shape of the patient. This device reduces the induction of spherical aberrations and also preserves image quality.

  • Alcon WaveLight Allegretto

The first excimer laser, The Alcon WaveLight Allegretto, was used to perform wavefront-guided treatments. Wavefront technology measures every aspect of the eyes’ refractive error that can only be detected with this device and not with other scanners.

Furthermore, the Alcon WaveLight Allegretto offers several unique optical measurement instruments such as,

– The Eye Tracker – A 500Hz eye tracker reacts to the eye’s movements with just two milliseconds.

– The Optical Zones – The combination of optical zones allows the surgeon to perform the treatment, helping to reduce night vision problems in patients.

With the help of these features, the Alcon WaveLight Allegretto results in a higher quality of vision, particularly under low luminance conditions, and reduces or eliminates glare and halos when driving at night.

  • FS200 Femto Laser

The fastest femtosecond laser is the WaveLight® FS200 Femtosecond Laser, intended to deliver highly precise and predictable results.

The device optimizes time between the flap creation and laser procedures. The standard flap creation time is approximately six seconds, with a low standard deviation in flap thickness, along with the unique cut pattern to minimize OBLs (Opaque Bubble Layers) as well as low pulse energy resulting in sharp cutting edges, smooth stromal beds, and easy-to-lift flaps. In addition to this, the flap heals more securely than a flap generated.
